Hi Tom - welcome back? Say, there's a gathering coming up this summer in Columbus I'm looking forward to. Are you going?
Too bad about the unintentional interim. Sometimes I think the whole Western church is involved in one of those. Do you have a way to pay the bills in the mean time or is there some urgency around that?
Hi Tom - I think I met you at the TLG in Orlando 2 (3??) years ago... I was the one who led the breakout session on the possibilities of Lutheran House churches. Since you're on leave from call (nasty term, that!) - any possibility you'd like to explore jumping off the deep end and helping me invent a way for ELCA pastors to foster HC expressions???

About Me:
Used to be involved with ELN somewhat a few years back. Coordinator of the Transformational Leaders Gathering, Emerging Worship columnist for The Lutheran, and been doing the Wired Jesus Podcast for over 3 years. Ah, also been doing the ELCA pastor thing for 18+ years.
Who am I? (Many ways to answer this -- be as creative as you want, or not.)
Frankenstein never scared me.
Marsupials do.
Because they're fast.
How did I get into "emerging ministry"?
With an ELCA teaching congregation workshop in the late 1990s with Lou Forney in Michigan. That started me down the road connecting with the Transformational Leaders Gathering. Then I got to know Len Sweet, who steered me to Ron Martoia and the experiential worship they did at Westwinds Community, and it just kind of snowballed from there to doing emergent styles in existing congregations. The coolest moment was the live U2 Eucharist with the tribute band Vertigo - http://www.vertigou2band.com/flashsite/tribune.html
Say a little bit about the community you share life with...
I'm on leave from call following an unintentional interim, so I'm interviewing - any suggestions?
What are the most pressing questions (both theological and practical) you and your community have?
Why there is a conversation about God going on in the world around us and the Church, particularly local congregations, don't want to be a part of it if they can't control the agenda?
